FFF Day!!! #1 (Forced Family Fun)

Mammoth Cave Here We Come!!!

Well two Saturdays we forced some family fun on the kids. We didn't tell them where we were going just that they needed to wear comfy shoes and dress warm. I thought the dress warm might of tipped them off but it didn't.
So we got up early Saturday morning and after a bit of whining and gripping, (nothing like FFF if there isn't whining).
We leave on time only because we told them a false time so SKYE and VANNAH would be ready. On the road we go!!!! Mammoth Cave is only about 1 & 1/2 hours from our house. We stopped in on the Great Golden Arches which I am not a very big fan of and scrarffed down some vittles. (We're in Kentuckey, I can talk like that).
Then we head over to the cave to pick up our tickets we had reserved beforehand (thank goodness or there would have been no tour). We wait around for our time and then on to the school busses waiting for us. They drive us into the woods and then stop on the side of the road beside a deep hole in the earths surface and we embark on a four hour tour, four hour tour. Then the weather started getting rough and our tiny ship was lost if not.........sorry, sorry all in my head. Next, we go through a door and then go down I think 223 steps, Seth and Trent were counting. Poor Trent bumped his head, all tall people had alot of dunking to do all day. We walked for about an hour then stopped for lunch then on again for 3 more hours.
We had such a great time and we wore everyone out, me included. I had trouble walking down stairs for a few days after. The babies slept all the way home. It was just like old days. It's so nice as a parent to still be able to steal them for a day and not share with anything else.
I'm currently planning FFF Day #2!!!!!!!!

VOTEVOTEVOTE

Well, I early voted yesterday. I waited almost 2 hours to be able to cast my vote for the man I hope and pray has his heart in the right place to run this wonderful country. I felt such relief after it was done. I also felt such sadness in this country and where we seem to be going. My only comfort I could come up with is that really it's all in Gods hands. However it comes out I do believe there is a reason. I voted to the best of my ability my educating myself and my conscience not for the party.

Next nine weeks!!!!!!

Well we made it through the first nine weeks of school. Report card day was today. We had Savannah with straight A's!!!!!!!!!!! She is so excited!!! We pay money for A's!! She is pumped. She likes to rub it in other members of the families faces though. Skye and Seth agree her grades don't count because she is 6th grade.

Anyway, I won't go into the others grades just out of love for them. They had good grades don't get me wrong. Just a few bumps here and there being that we're so social and all and can send over 10,000 texts a month. It's really hard being a parent of this generation. (Milliniums I think there called)

So, we're two weeks from halloween and Savannah is so worried because we haven't went looking for a costume yet. So that is on my mom list to do this week. I like Halloween, I bought a spooky CD and have been playing it in the kitchen all week.

I've got some catching up to do on here, I'll try to get some pictures posted and tell everyone what we've been up to ASAP!

Letter from God

To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: GOD
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE

This is God. Today I will be handling All of your problems foryou. I do Not need your help. So, have a nice day.I love you. :)

P.S. And, remember...If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannothandle, do Not attempt to resolve it yourself! ?Kindly put it in theSFGTD (something for God to do) box. I will get to it in MY TIME. ?Allsituations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.? Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it byworrying about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that arepresent in your life now.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are peoplein this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work; think of the man who has been outof work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; think of the personwho has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; think of the womanin dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feedher children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance;think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; think of the cancerpatient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life allabout, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those whodidn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities; remember, things could be worse. You could be one of them!

God has seen you struggling,God says it's over.

Summer is over :(

Well it has been an exciting week here in the Bain household. School has started along with other activites starting up for the year. Monday was alot of fun. This was Savannah's first full day of Middle School. We had a few break downs that morning, does my hair look ok mom, does my shirt make me look like a baby, what if I can't get my locker open? Very scary stuff!!! I am happy to report she made it through the week pretty much unscathed!!!! Yea!

Everyone likes their teachers pretty much ok, although Skye is taking Spanish, and Seth is taking French, so we are having the two of them talking to each other in both launguages it's pretty entertaining. (Should I say trying to talk and prenunsite to each other.)

Seth started in line Hockey this week he likes it, he just has a learning curb to over come since he has only ever played street hockey. Plus the boys on his team have been eating wheaties a year or two longer than him. (Their Bigger) Which is funny being that he is 5ft 8in now. He just has no meat on him (Scott side of the family, and no butt, Davis side of the family.)

Savannah has started piano over the summer and really likes it, the funny part is her teacher talks more than her, (you have to know Savannah), this irkes Savannah alittle she can't get a word in!!!

Skye startes Dancing next week, She is taking Point, Ballet, Lyrical, Tap, Hip hop and Tap. She is on the Competition team this year so she is ready for it to get started.

This is Skye and her friends all dressed up in costumes
we have collected over the years. They walked around
the neighborhood like this for about an hour!

This is us at the Zoo, the animals behind us are baby
alligators. The unfamiliar boy is Alec, Skye's
friend that is a boy. Everytime I would take
a picture Seth would get in between them.
What a good brother he is!!!

Bag Worms

Well last week I noticed two of my evergreens were looking like they were dying. upon closer inspection 100's of cocoon looking things where hanging everywhere. The worst part is they were all wiggling. Blaaaaa-grossness.
My yard guy pulled up while I was doing this and informed me what they were and that I should go fishing with them. He also said the only way to get rid of them was to pull them off the trees and burn them!!! Great I'm thinking, just what I want to do.
So Trent and I enlist the whole family and we pick bag worms off our trees for close to two hours. Everyone except Trent wore gloves, it was right there on the top 10 grossest things I've done. Just thought I'd share.
